Our Salvation Made Possible
|
Man alone cannot save
himself. Enter God’s plan for saving man. Our
salvation has been made possible because of a “longsuffering
God” (2 Peter 3:9). Our salvation has been made possible by
the giving…
Of God’s Son.
A reading of John 3:16 reveals, “For God so loved the world that
He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life.” God sent His son to call
“sinners, to repentance” (Mt. 9:13). Would you have
given your only child so the sinners could have the hope of
forgiveness?
Of God’s Grace.
Paul stated, “For by grace you have been saved through
faith…” (Eph. 2:8). Grace is “unmerited
favor.” We don’t deserve salvation, but because of
the love and grace of God, the plan of salvation has been made
available.
Of Christ’s Blood.
Ephesians 1:7 reveals, “In Him (Christ) we have redemption
through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of
His grace.” Christ willing came to this earth and shed His
blood so we could have the forgiveness of sin. The Hebrew writer
declared, “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and
goats could take away sins” (Heb. 10:4). Our salvation
required the blood of the perfect Lamb, that sacrifice being the Son of
God.
Of The Word of God.
The Holy Spirit revealed the word. Paul penned, “how that
by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly
written already, by which, when you read, you may understand my
knowledge in the mystery of Christ), which in other ages was not made
known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to
His holy apostles and prophets” (Eph. 3:3-6). The Gospel,
the good news of Jesus Christ, is “the power of God to salvation
for everyone who believes” (Rom. 1:16).
These are the things that God has done to make our salvation
possible. God now requires men to do their part in being
saved. Folks must come to God hearing (Rom. 10:17, believing (Jn.
8:24), repenting (Lk. 13:3), confessing Christ as the Son of God (Acts
8:37), be baptized (Mk. 16:16) and live faithful (Rev. 2:10).
